Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
Whilst strictly speaking they are boots not shoes my doc Martens are my now most favourite form of footwear.
After a tough few months of breaking in they now fit like gloves & keep my feet warm & dry.
They represent to me being able to go on adventures & keeping my feet safe during live music events. Whilst I may not be in the thick of a mosh pit they do protect from fellow concert attendees feet when any form of localised jumping or enthusiastic dancing takes place.
In fact I recently indulged my Doc addiction & bought a pair of brogues. Currently breaking these in so will be able to chose between the two.
My most favourite memories of recent time are now associated with wearing my docs.
I even got to meet a band whose music I adore in them.
This was part of a brief visit to Vienna in which I managed to travel around with my daughter. The odd combo of docs & dry-robe may have looked weird but with the auto immune condition I have this look represented freedom for me.
You can’t really see the pretty roses embroidered in black on the side. It was odd bumping into someone on a set of stairs in Vienna who was in the other version of these boots with the roses depicted in red.
We have also spent many a happy hour at Slamdunk listening to music. Safe in the knowledge feet will remain really happy in docs.
So here’s to a few more years wandering about in them.
